the jogger
despite the anguish, or her pain
through the park with autumn tints
ever onward she tireless sprints...
every step, a milestone trod
in her trainers, new fashion shod
her bright blue top quite wet and thin
clinging cold against her skin
along and down between tall trees
she rushes past as if she flees
pursued by all the demons known
as the leaves about her blown
settle onto the muddy path...
past the yaffles and their laugh
on towards hatching green
where the jackdaws caw and preen

"the jogger" - die beobachtung der joggerin ist vordergründig der eher distanzierte blick auf ein lifestyle-phänomen, dem gedichtband "blue skies in tuscany - poems about live, love and lesser burdock" des britischen autors hugh d. loxdale entnommen. es ist die kongeniale verbindung aus subtiler beobachtung, bildhafter beschreibung und fein dosiertem englischen humor, mit der es hugh d. loxdale immer wieder gelingt aus alltagsgeschichten echte poetry zu schreiben. es ist ein reines vergnügen, dies musikalisch umsetzen zu dürfen, denn die vertonung des textes erfolgte mit freundlicher genehmigung des autors und seiner verlegerin und ist ebenfalls teil eines projekts von michael a. schnase.
